«THE TATAR GAZETTE» - TATAR FONT


In order to read texts in the Tatar language, you have to install the Tatar font for "Windows". First download it to your computer. Then unzip the file using WinZip or other similar application. After that, click "Start", select "Settings" > "Control Panel" > "Fonts" > "Install New Font".

After having installed the Tatar font, follow these steps:

If you are using Internet Explorer 4

  1. Select "View" > "Options" > "General" > "Font Settings".
  2. Set "Arial Tat" as the proportional font for the character set "Cyrillic".
  3. Click "OK" two times.
  4. If necessary, select "Cyrillic" as the current encoding.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5

  1. Select "Tools" > "Internet Options" > "Fonts" .
  2. Set "Arial Tat" as the web page font for the language script "Cyrillic".
  3. Click "OK" two times.
  4. If necessary, select "Cyrillic (Windows)" as the current encoding.

If you are using Netscape Navigator 4

  1. Select "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Appearance" > "Fonts".
  2. Set "Arial Tat" as the variable width font for the "Cyrillic" encoding.
  3. Click "OK".
  4. Select "Cyrillic (Windows-1251)" as the current encoding.

If you have problems with installing the Tatar font, write to the webmaster.
